I would like to thank all the Staff or making our visit so interesting and enjoyable, the splendid repast when arriving set the tone, followed by a very detailed and instructed explanation of the Earl, his lifestyle and the history of the house.

About The Estate

Brudenell Estates comprises approximately 9,000 acres of land divided between Northamptonshire, known as Deene Park, and Leicestershire’s Welland Valley.  The Brudenell family have carefully stewarded the House, Parkland and rural estates for over 500 years.

The Estate is ring-fenced, bisected by the A43 road that links Corby to Stamford. The Estate is centred around Deene Park, with its Tudor Hall and designed landscape, gardens and parkland.

Deene Park is in a tranquil, rural part of Northamptonshire and forms an important part of the historic Rockingham Forest, one of the great Royal hunting grounds of the Midlands Counties.  The Parkland covers 568 acres and is included in the English Heritage Register of parks and gardens of historic interest (Grade 2 listed) and is designated in the national context as a Landscape of Special Interest.

The House and Parkland are nestled in the gently undulating Willow Brook valley, with its ridges framed by wooded hills. The Willow Brook, a tributary of the River Nene, is dammed in several places, to form a series of lakes in the designed landscape. The predominance is agricultural land, with areas of unimproved pasture running along the water courses.

The Leicestershire Estate is situated within the Welland Valley, which historically is well known for beef production. The land is a little hillier than the Northamptonshire Estate and is rather more fragmented, with land blocks around the villages of Horninghold, Medbourne, Cranoe, Glooston, Stonton Wyville and Welham.

The Brudenell Estates support a wide range of enterprises, ranging from Agriculture, Residential and Commercial working together, providing premises for numerous other small businesses.
