House Tour
Let our talented guides bring to life the history of the house and the Brudenell family, whose extensive collection includes family portraits and possessions, furniture and porcelain, together with uniforms and memorabilia from the Crimean War.
Explore the Tudor Great Hall, admire Lady Cardigan’s Victorian ball gown, meet Ronald the horse, who rode at Balaklava, and marvel at the impressive Georgian wing, built for entertaining.
After a house tour, the grounds and gardens are open for group members to explore at their leisure.
For private group visits, the tearoom is available for pre-booked refreshments and lunch.
Tour duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Garden Tour
Garden tours are hosted by our Head Gardener and they are a must for gardening enthusiasts.
Meander through our seasonally themed gardens and enjoy the beauty of the Parterre, Rose Garden, White Garden, Summer House, and the Long Borders, all whilst gaining a fascinating insight into the history of the Deene and how to garden has evolved over the centuries. Andrew also provides practical information and advice on a wide variety of flora, which changes naturally throughout the year, and how the gardens are managed.
For private group visits, the tearoom is available for pre-booked refreshments and lunch.
Tour duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Self-Guided Visit
Only available on our public open days.
Explore at your leisure and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the House, Gardens, and the Brudenell family. Our knowledgeable and friendly guides are on hand to answer questions and provide a wealth of information about the history of the rooms and the treasured collections they hold.
During your visit you’ll have access to the gardens to explore at your leisure and the Old Kitchen Tearoom will be open serving a delicious range of scrumptious hand-made cakes and snacks, as well as the great British favourite, cream tea.
Duration: We recommend you allow a minimum of 1 hour to view the House and 1 hour for the Gardens.
