The agricultural land within the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire estates are predominately grade 3 agricultural land, supporting arable and livestock enterprises.
The arable land is used for growing cereal, the main crops being barley, wheat, oil seed rape, oats and beans.
Across the Brudenell Estates there are 26 farming businesses with some operating under the traditional Agricultural Holdings Act (AHA) tenancies and 15 operating under the newer Farm Business Tenancies (FBTs). There are also a number of seasonal grass letting arrangements, including Deene Park.
All of the farm businesses are family run operations, many of whom have been tenants on the Estates for three generations or more.
Nature conservation plays an important part in the management of the estate. As part of our commitment to responsible stewardship there are a number of agri-environmental schemes operating on the land, these help to support the biodiversity across the Estate.
